Toothache is an aching and dull pain in or about a tooth and the main causes are tooth decay, abscessed tooth, tooth fracture, damaged filling, repetitive motions (such as chewing gum) and infected gums.
Among the symptoms of a toothache we can find pain (sometimes only when pressure is applied to the tooth), swelling around the tooth, fever or a headache and foul-tasting drainage from the infected tooth.
Toothache is characterized by the throbbing pain suffered, which usually starts suddenly. It is often worse at night and can either come and go or be constant. The area which is close to the infected tooth can also be sore and tender to the touch.

Another curious home remedy for Toothache is to press with the tip of a toothpick under the cuticle of the forefinger (where the lines of insertion of the nail converge). You should press this area until the pain disappears and then, repeat the action. Note that the finger in which you should apply the pressure must be on the same side of the pain (for example, finger of the right hand if the pain is on the right side of your mouth).
