There are tons of water softener problems, learn how to detect them in this post.
Did you know that you also need to check up on your water softener systems once in a while; just like a computer system, or a car, it also needs to be tuned-up to ensure that it is still in great working condition because it will cost you even more if you leave it running even if already elicits ineffectiveness. Although water softener problems rarely occur, it is still best to be sure than be sorry.
Do the check up at least every three to six months depending on your average water consumption. If during your assessment you found out that you indeed have water softener problems then follow the following pieces of advice that might help you in one way or the other.
Start by doing an inspection on the water that is supposed to be treated by a water softener system. Is the water leaving water spots on your sink or dishes? Do your dishes feel slimy and soapy even after rinsing it for the nth time? Has your tub or your toilet been very hard to clean lately because of the hard white spots sticking to them? If so, then you are already encountering water softener problems.
After the said inspection, go to your softener system and check the lines and the pipes where it is connected. Are the lines still intact? Are there any signs of alteration in the pipes and lines? Are there scale build ups in the pipes to and from the softener? Is the answer is yes; then you already need to check the system itself by opening it up.
The remedy to water softener problems actually varies depending on what type of softener you are using. If you are making use of a commercially sold and manufactured softener, the best thing to do is to seek help from the company or the manufacturer instead of dissecting the system on your own because if you do it on your own and the problem lies on the manufacturing process of the product then your warranty will be forfeited because they might say that the problem was due to your actions. So always leave it to the experts. But if you are making use of salt to soften your water, the primary thing that you can attend to is the brine tank, just clean it regularly and never forget to refill the tank also at a regular basis in order to avoid any problems in the future.
